Every dog who boards needs current vaccinations, and the team verifies them before check-in, not after. Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) all need to be current, given at least one week before your dog's stay starts. That week matters, it gives the vaccine time to take effect before your dog is around other dogs.
You have three ways to get records to us: upload them to the Pet Parent Portal yourself, email them to our team, or let us verify directly with your veterinarian. If something is out of date, we would rather catch it a week out than at the front desk with your bags already in the car, so send records early if you can.
Holiday weeks fill up months ahead at both of our campuses, and Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two that go first. If your travel dates land anywhere near a major holiday or spring break, book the boarding dates before you book the flight, not after. Spring break and the winter holidays draw the same instinct out of every dog family in the Valley at once: everyone waits until the trip is confirmed, and then everyone calls the same week.
Boarding runs on a three-night minimum stay, enough time for your dog to settle into the routine and relax into it, rather than spending the whole visit unsettled. Drop-off and pickup happen during office hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm. We are closed to the public on Sunday, so plan your drop-off for Saturday or your pickup for Monday if your flight lands on a Sunday. Your dog is still fed, exercised, and cared for every single day of the stay regardless of when the office is open to people.

The campus sits at the center of the north Valley, not on the edge of it. Carefree is effectively next door. Desert Hills is a straight shot up Carefree Highway. Anthem comes in off the I-17 corridor, and families around Desert Ridge and North Scottsdale make the drive north past Lone Mountain regularly, since Cave Creek is often the closer campus once you are north of there. If Shea and the 101 sits closer to your house, the Scottsdale campus runs the same boarding program on the same rates.
This is the actual differentiator, and it is worth saying plainly: the week you are already paying for can be the week your dog gets ahead, instead of a week that just passes. A boarding stay is not locked into being purely custodial.
